A great way to discover Shanghai in a day

We only had one full day in Shanghai and wanted to make the most of it, but without rushing from one place to another. Our guide skillfully combined the most famous sights with glimpses into the city's daily life. Everything was very well organized, and at the end of the day, we felt we had gotten to know Shanghai a little better.

A day tailored just for us

We didn't feel like following the typical tourist itinerary and the team from CHINAHORA She helped us organize a day much more in line with our preferences. We wanted to explore trendy neighborhoods, stop for lunch in Haidilao, and have time for leisurely strolls. Our guide was very flexible and friendly, and we never felt like we had to keep an eye on the clock. Being able to discover the city at our own pace made the experience so much better.

A beautiful getaway away from the hustle and bustle

Suzhou was one of my favorite days of the trip. The classical gardens are beautiful, but what I enjoyed most was learning the stories behind their architecture and design. We also had time to stroll along the canals and take photos at our leisure. After the pace of Shanghai, it was a wonderful change of scenery. I would have stayed another day in a heartbeat!

Chongqing is even more impressive in person.

Chongqing is a fascinating city, although at first we struggled a bit to find our way around its many levels, bridges, staircases, and streets that seemed to lead to unexpected places. Having a local guide made things much easier. We were able to enjoy the views, wander through lively streets, and sample the local cuisine without worrying about where to go next. It's a city with a lot of personality and is well worth exploring with someone who knows it well.

A different perspective on the history of Shanghai

I wanted to learn more about China's contemporary history, beyond the usual tourist spots, and this tour helped me understand its context much better. The guide explained the events clearly and engagingly, connecting the places we visited to the country's historical developments. Furthermore, I was able to ask questions and have an interesting conversation, instead of just listening to memorized explanations. It was a very enriching experience.

Come hungry, because it's worth it!

It was one of the most enriching experiences of the entire trip, literally! We tried dishes I definitely wouldn't have ordered on my own, and our guide explained what they were and how the locals usually eat them. I loved discovering small eateries away from the main tourist areas. Between tastings, we walked quite a bit and laughed a lot. I do recommend coming hungry, though, because you'll want to try everything!
